Committees

Citizens Advisory Council Delegate

Attends monthly meetings (4 th Tuesday of month) of this advisory council to the Board of Education and reports back to the PTA executive board and general membership. The meeting addresses educational issues on a county level.

Cultural Arts

Works with the PTA Executive board, teachers, principal, and assistant principal to plan various cultural events for the school year.

Hospitality

Develops a spirit of friendliness among the school community. The committee organizes the serving of refreshments for the following events:

Staff Appreciation

Organizes all activities during Staff Appreciation week in May including a luncheon and various “surprise” gifts to show our appreciation for the staff. Staff Appreciation Luncheon recipes:

Membership

Builds an informed, active membership, familiar with the mission, objects, policies, and programs of the PTA. The committee collects membership dues, distributes membership cards, and maintains a current membership list.

PTA Communications

Disseminates information relating to the PTA, schools and county-wide educational issues using the following medium:

Publicity

Helps to create public awareness and support for PTA goals and programs by coordinating publications in the local newspapers.

Special Events & Activities

Coordinates the special family events and helps with various school-based activities such as:

Volunteer Coordination

Coordinates volunteers for PTA sponsored activities and/or school activities, upon request. Parents are surveyed to see where they would like to volunteer their time in the school.

After-school Programs

Oversees the implementation of after-school activities. The committee need not run the activities themselves, but rather ensure that each activity has the appropriate resources (space, volunteer support, etc.) needed.

Ways & Means

Arranges fund raisers to support the PTA budget which in turn supports the goals established by the Executive Board. Waterloo fundraisers include:

Volunteer Opportunities

A Volunteer Solicitation Form of opportunities to volunteer for PTA & School Wide Activities will be sent home on the first day of school. Just select the activities you wish to volunteer for and return the form to the school.
